Responsibilities of War

Responsibilities of War

I would like the president
to finish the life of
at least one soldier he sent to die

after a thousand deaths
it should be the law

the president shows up
and says hello mrs. jones
I’m your husband now
where are the children
the note I have says
I have a little boy and
a girl

she says hello
and hands him a lunch box
and sends him off
to work at the factory
he’s late
and doesn’t have any
sick time or vacation
because he’s been away
